Gwendolyn Howard Brown; Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and wife, died peacefully at the age of 94 years old, Monday, November 11, 2019.

She was born and raised in Howard's Mill Community, Early County, GA on February 6, 1925 as the fourth and last child of the late Charles and Leila Howard.

Gwen was an early pioneer for working women. As a devoted mother of 3 and wife of the late Willie L. Brown, she also enjoyed a full career in the field of Public Health Nursing. She retired from the Duval County Health Department as the Assistant Nursing Director in 1989.

As a devoted Christian, she was a member of the Highlands Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville, FL and attended regularly until her health interfered.

Gwen is survived by her children, son Randall Brown, and two daughters, Daven Brown and Lutrell Rayle (Keith), grandchildren, Marcie (Ted) Hargiss, Jonathan Golden and Alex Golden and great grandchildren, Ashley and Darien Hargis.

Gwen's feisty spirit, girlish laughter and never-ending strength will live on through everyone who knew her. Her unconditional love of her family and God serves as an inspiration to all lives that she touched. She will be missed.
