WM. T. COY DIED THURSDAY NIGHT
William Theodore Coy, age 72, died at his home on south Pleasant Street at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday evening following a three week's illness. The funeral services were held at the Edinburg Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Ray Bozell, pastor of the Old Union Church conducted the services. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Coy was born in Brown County, Jan. 11, 1861 the son of John and Sally Anderson Coy. He was engaged in the community southwest of Edinburg and after his retirement lived here. He was a member of the Red Men lodge and the Christian Church at New Bethel.
Mr. Coy was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Wirey Nov. 18, 1893 and 4 children were born to this union, three of whom are deceased. The deceased are Harvey Coy, Pearl May Wray, and Viola Coy.
He is survived by the wife; one son, Wilbur Coy, of Edinburg; a sister, Mrs. Mary Wirey; one half-brother George Miller; eight grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral for Retired Farmer to be Held There Saturday Afternoon
Edinburg, Sept. 14 – William T. Coy, 72, prominent retired farmer of this community died at his home on Pleasant Street last night at 8:15 o'clock, after an illness of three weeks. Death was due to complication following intestinal trouble.
Funeral services in charge of the Rev. Ray Bozell will be held at the Edinburg Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Coy lived in Edinburg during almost his entire life. He was born in Brown County Jan. 11, 1861, the son of John and Sally Anderson Coy. While young his family moved near Edinburg, and later he became a farmer. He retired from active work a few years ago.
Nov. 18, 1883, he married Miss Eliza. Wirey, and to this union four children were born, two sons and two daughters, only one of whom survives. Surviving are the widow, and the son, Wilbur, a sister Mrs. Mary Wirey; a half-brother, George Miller, and eight grandchildren, all of Edinburg.
Mr. Coy was a member of the New Bethel Christian Church, and was affiliated with the Red Men's Lodge.
