Alvin Strode, 90, of Tompkinsville, Ky., died Sunday, January 6, 2002 at the Monroe County Medical Center. Born October 8, 1911 in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas "C.T." Strode and Vessie McMillan Strode. He was a factory worker at Cidahay and a farmer and a member of Sulphur Ridge Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bina Bryant Strode; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harlie and Runelle Strode of Tompkinsville and Carlie and Linda Strode of Glasgow; one daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Jr. Thompson of Tompkinsville; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Yokley-Trible Funeral Home with burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
