"GUILDERLAND -- Kathryn A. Leonard, 71, of Guilderland, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at her daughter's residence. She was born in Elmira, NY and was the daughter of the late Anna Felice and Louis Alteri Sr. Mrs. Leonard worked as a computer operator for the N.Y.S. Dept. of Corrections and Bidnet, Inc., retiring in 2000. She was a former communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie Church and a communicant of Christ the King Church and a former member of its Altar Rosary Society. Mrs. Leonard was an avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. football Giants. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Kathryn is the wife of the late Robert J. Leonard Jr. She is the beloved mother of Janis A. Leonard, James L. Leonard and Ellen M. Dorato, all of Guilderland, John P. Leonard of Saratoga Springs, Peter M. Leonard of Las Vegas, NV and the late Robert J. Leonard III; mother-in-law of Jeanne O'Brien Leonard, Debbie Bacon Leonard and Michael J. Dorato. She is the cherished grandmother of Robert J. (Bobby) Leonard IV, James (Jay) S. Leonard, John (LJ) P. Leonard, Janelle M. Leonard, Michael J. (Mikey) Leonard, Michelle Leonard, Kelsey M. Ryan and Nicole Leonard. Kathryn is the sister of Rose Rossi and Louis Alteri and his wife, Barbara and the late Peter Neri, Laura Monaco, Albert Neri and Joseph Neri; sister-in-law of Carol Neri, Frances Neri, John F. Leonard, JoEllen Leonard, M. Roselia Riley and Michael P. Riley. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends, especially Patricia Thomas. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:15 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Christ the King Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 7:00 p.m. on Friday for a service of prayer and remembrance. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont ..."
