On Friday, July 13, 2007, Hugh (Pitt) Tyler was received in the Arms of his Lord. He was born on February 24, 1931 in Schulenburg, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Reynolds Metals. He was an avid reader of western novels and history and enjoyed family gatherings. He will always be remembered for his kindness, devotion to his loving wife, family and friends. You can always count on him being there.

Hugh was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, and sister.

He is survived by his wife and soul mate of 39 years, Nelda; children, Devry (Norvin) Samford, Gwena (Peter) Munson, Mark (Sheri) Tyler, Karen Randolph, and Douglas Wright; brother, Oran (Peggy) Tyler, Jr.; brother-in-law, Allen Heintze; grandchildren, Derrick and Desiree Samford, Elizabeth Samford, Holly Tyler-Ware, Jason Tyler, April (Drew) Gadoci, Michelle and Lisa Randolph, Amber (Emmanuel) Garcia, Ansley (Michauel) Allen, and Wesley Wright; four great-grandchildren, Ashleah Redd, Wyatt and Austin Ware, and Caden Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; his church family from Covenant Baptist Church, Mike Dixon and the Tuesday Morning Town and Country Mens Group and his Reynolds Metal Group.

Service held July 15 & 16 at Seaside Funeral Home. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.

Pallbearers -- Mark Tyler, Douglas Wright, Wesley Wright, Jason Tyler, Derrick Samford and Jack Randolph. Honorary pallbearers -- the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group.

As much as we cherished our husband, dad, and grandfather, we are happy that he is out of his pain and is reunited with his loved ones. We will miss him dearly and know that one day, we will be together again
