Rev. C. Goff Services Set for Thursday
Funeral services will be held for Rev. Cecil Whitcomb Goff, at the Tabernacle Methodist church. Rev. Goff died at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lafayette of complications of an illness of several months.
Rev. Goff was born in Michigan township on Feb. 21, 1894, to Herman Mason and Lilly Dell (Gaskill) Goff. On Aug. 11, 1920, he was married to June Mary Palmer, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Herman Franklin Goff of Young America; one daughter Julia Mary Peacock, of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Clare Phillippe, Mulberry, and Mrs. Esther Herron of Frankfort and five grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Frankfort high school and attended Indiana State Normal school, teaching school until World War I. He served 19 months in an ambulance company and was in the National Guard for several years. He entered the ministry of the former Methodist Protestant church in 1936. He retired in 1959.
Rev. Claude Eaton, Dr. Thomas Stovall, and Rev. Lester Knopfmeier will officiate. Burial will be in Bunnell cemetary.

Cecil Whitcomb Goff was the oldest child and only son of Herman Mason Goff and Lilly Dell Gaskill. He had three sisters, Clare, Esther and Helen.
Cecil graduated from Frankfort High School, attended Indiana Normal School, then taught school in Clinton County, Indiana until World War I. He served 19 months in Battery F, 4th Regiment F.A.R.D., an ambulance company, during World War I, and served in the National Guard for several years.
On 11 Aug 1920, he married June Mary Palmer. They had two children, Herman Franklin Goff and Julia Mary Goff Peacock.
Cecil entered the ministry of the former Methodist Protestant church in 1936, holding pastorates at Maxinkuckee, Milledgeville and Harlan. After the Methodist church union, he served the Sugar Creek circuit, St. Paul, Jamestown, Colfax, Dana-Bono, Barkley circuit, Medaryville and Independence. He retired from the ministry at Medaryville in 1959.
