With 32 years of service, Larry retired from the Car Repair Department of Weirton Steel. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, water skiing and riding with his son in his dune buggy.
He is survived by wife Sandra Murphy Carpenter; sons Keith (Summer) Carpenter of Follansbee, Ryan (Jesse) Carpenter of Weirton and Chad Carpenter of Steubenville; daughter Carolyn (Robert) Lesheski of Hermitage, PA; brother Donovan Carpenter of West Palm Beach, FL; sister Loretta (Wayne) Nitz of Independence, KS; grandchildren Shane Naughton, Ashley (Chance) Walden, Jenna Schelin (Justin Bertsch), Jonathan, Cheyenne, Kayleigh and Chayden Carpenter and 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Saturday from 10 am until the 12 pm funeral service at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Pastor James Rhodes will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee.
