THE VILLAGES- Jack Helms, 83, passed from this life on November 11, 2019.

Born in Coral Gables, FL Jack graduated from Coral Gables High School continuing on to Florida State and receiving his Master’s Degree from the University of Miami.

Jack served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the late 1950s.

Jack had a long and successful career with Florida Power & Light. He was a project manager working in the Miami and Palm Beach Gardens areas. Jack retired in 1995. He continued working as a consultant for Florida Power and Light for several years and up until last year was an arbiter for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).

Jack and his wife Doretta moved to The Villages from Palm Beach Gardens in 2003. He was an avid golfer and a member of The Villages Marine Corps League.

Jack was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Patrick Morgan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Doretta; his daughter, Chris Morgan; grandchildren, Major Keith Bradley Helms, his wife Katherine, and Lyndsey Morgan; a sister, Jane Keele and nieces Debbie Rich and Laura Martinez.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages at 2:00 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher House Foundation
