Roy Lee Elliott, age 59 of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief diagnosis of lung cancer. He was born October 23, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of George and Emmy (Miller) Elliott. He worked at Perfecto Manufacturing in Noblesville for several years and retired in 2010. Roy married Sheila Griffin on June 25, 1979, and they shared over 40 years of marriage together. He was a long-time member and active parishioner of St. Stephen Episcopal Church in Elwood. Roy enjoyed traveling, and the journey was always as important as the destination. Trips to Florida, the Bahamas, and New Orleans - where he was especially fond of the French Quarter - were very special and memorable. He was an original “Foodie” who always liked to try new restaurants, different types of foods, and he also enjoyed watching TV cooking shows. Roy was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Ohio State Buckeyes football teams. He was an outdoor enthusiast, and formerly spent time fishing, hunting small game, and hunting mushrooms. More than anything, Roy’s favorite activity was anything that gave him the chance to spoil and spend time with his grandkids. As a loving husband, father, and grandfather - he will be greatly missed.

Roy’s family includes his wife, Sheila Elliott; son Dustin Lee (wife Kim) Elliott of Gas City, son Brandon Lynn Elliott of Elwood, and daughter Brittany Nicole (husband Chris) Lynch of Elwood; brothers Johnny Elliott of Ohio and Wilburn Elliott of Kentucky; and 5 grandchildren, Colton Elliott, Hayleigh Elliott, Kynzie Elliott, Kaden Lynch, and Payson Lynch. Roy was preceded in death by both his parents.

A graveside funeral service celebrating Roy’s life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Elwood with Father Harold Smith officiating.
