George Patrick Thompson, 82, of Jacksonville was born December 20, 1936 in Watson, Arkansas to the late Harris Patrick Thompson and Lula May Thompson. George departed this life on November 12, 2019 at Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. George served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic, Farm Manager and Vice President of White Bag Company in Jacksonville. He was a Shriner, a thirty-second degree Mason and a member of Jacksonville First United Methodist Church. More than anything he was a loving husband, father and grand-father who took pride in his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Lola Louise Thompson. He was an amazing man who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his children; Janet Thompson of McRae, Anthony (Theresa) Thompson of Bald Knob, Rhonda Allen of Jacksonville, Teresa (Kenneth) Berry of Dardanelle; nine grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.  Other survivors include siblings, Leroy (Elsie) Thompson of Hickory Plains, Jessie (Ruth) Thompson of Sparkman, Dorothy (Ernest) Mayville of Helena, Margaret Wright of Harrisburg, Judy Clark of Des Arc, David Stewart of Indiana and Don Stewart of Florida; along with a host of extended family and friends

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home with Richard Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
