A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac. Graveside services will immediately follow the visitation at South Side Cemetery in Pontiac, IL with Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born in Pontiac, Illinois on February 1, 1936 to Elmer and Ferne (Baum) Gordon.
Edward attended Pontiac High School and was a graduate of the class of 1952. Upon his graduation, he became a Union Book Binder and continued this career until his retirement.
During his life he enjoyed many hobbies, music being one of his favorites, he played harmonica, guitar, and the mandolin. Edward also had a large interest in road motorcycles and was an avid fan of motorcycle racing.
Edward was preceded in death by: his parents, Elmer and Ferne Gordon; wives, Janet (Schultheis) Gordon, who passed in January of 1986 in Indianapolis, IN and Jerrie C. (Utt) Gordon, who passed in July of 2019 in Pineville, Arkansas.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory Matthew A. Gordon, Michael and Amanda Gordon, Jeffrey E. Gordon, Mike and Susie Nehez and Tommy Nehez and his two grandchildren, Eric R. Gordon and Andrea M. Gordon.
Edward will be laid to rest in Pontiac, IL, alongside Janet and his parents, Elmer and Ferne.
