Dewey C. Watson, age 82 of Centerburg, died Tuesday morning July 10, 2007 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

He was born on November 12, 1924 in Honaker, Va. to the late A. Wilson and Emma (Gobble) Watson. He was a WWII Navy veteran, member of the Willow Grove Advent Christian Church, member of Mt. Zion Lodge No.9 F&AM and past member of the Centerburg Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a retired truck driver for Terminal Freight in Columbus with 25 years of service.

Dewey was a fun loving guy who had a great sense of humor and loved to play pranks on people, he enjoyed camping, life and eating.

He is survived by his wife: Norma (DeVault) Durtschi Watson and they were married April 21, 2007 in Mt. Liberty; nieces, Pauletta Barnes of Rock Hill SC, Crystal (Gene) Ball of Sunbury, Linda (Bill) Powell of Beckley, WV, Betty (Greg) Parker of Mt. Liberty, Marie Stout of Mt. Vernon; nephews, Jim Watson of Johnstown, Buzz Watson of Millwood, Sid Watson of Florida, other nieces and nephews. Great niece and nephew: Christian and Ashley Elizabeth Barnes. Step-sons: James (Sherri) Durtschi of Mt. Liberty, Tony (Clarice) Durtschi of Glenford, Jay Durtschi of Mt. Vernon; step daughter: Billie (Mike) Salisbury of Mt. Liberty. seven step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.

He was preceded by his first wife, Bobbie Louise (Reedy) Watson on June 17, 2005, and nephew, Tom Watson.
