William A. Mitchell, 72, 2417 Virginia street, who had resided in Sioux City most of his life, died Saturday at a hospital. Mr. Mitchell was born November 30, 1888, in St. Paul, Minn. He was a member of the First Methodist church, Landmark lodge 103 A. F. & A. M., Sioux City Consistory 5, Columbia lodge 13, Knights of Pythias and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. He was employed by the Omaha railroad before retiring in 1955. Survivors include the widow Ethel Marie; two daughters, Mrs. Varena Wade of Iowa City, Ia., and Mrs. Bonnie Reiff of Plainview, Long Island, N. Y.; a brother, Ralph C. of Sioux City, and five sisters, Mrs. Esther Cloud and Mrs. Ethel Swanson of Sioux City, Mrs. Gussie Deuschle and Mrs. Marie Gilmore of San Diego, Cal., and Mrs. Gladys Deuschle of Bison, S. D. The Nelson-Berger north side funeral home has charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for William A. Mitchell, 72, 2417 Virginia street, a longtime Sioux Cityan who died Saturday at a hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson-Berger north side funeral home. Rev. Charles Mason of the First Methodist church will officiate and burial will be Graceland park cemetery. Members of Landmark lodge 103, A. F. & A. M. will conduct Masonic rites at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Roman, Dean Addison, Willard Smith, John Cotter, Ole Neswick and Frank Boni.
