John Robert "JR" Stout, 93 years, of Anderson, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
JR was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on January 6, 1926 to the late, John and Jessie (Stephens) Stout. He grew up in El Reno, Oklahoma and joined the United Sates Navy at the age of 18, proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in 1946. JR married the love of his life on June 4, 1964 in Dalhart, Texas. He worked for 15 years for the Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, Texas. He moved to Anderson, Missouri in 1965, bought a farm and ran a Toms peanut route for 15 years; JR also worked for the McDonald School District as a custodian and a bus driver. He was a member of the Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Jo Stout; a son, Kerry Wayne Stout; a daughter, Linda Wilson; a grandson, Neal Allen Stout; siblings, Wayne Hines, Hurley Stout, Leonard Stout; Thelma Wiggs, Helen Miller, Mildred Mitchell, Videll McDonald and Maxine Bowers.
JR is survived by his children, Lanny Stout of Frankfort, Ohio, Robert Stout of Noel, Missouri, Joe Platter of Anderson, Missouri, Sharon Wright of Neosho, Missouri, Donna Myers of Anderson, Missouri, Darrell Hines of Buena Park, California; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss JR.
Funeral services for JR Stout will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Holloway will officiate. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The family will receive friends at this time.
