Louis Donald Brady, 81, Bardstown, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Colonial Health and Rehabilitation in Bardstown. He was born on June 26, 1933 in Marion County.


He was a Korean Air Force veteran, a former police officer for the Bardstown Police Department, owner and operator of Plaza Barber Shop for over 45 years, and a member of St. Joseph Church.


He was preceded in death by: his wife of 54 years, Mary Hardesty Brady; a son, Bernard Michael Brady; his parents Patrick and Josephine Morris Brady; three brothers, Jim Brady, Charles Brady and Mack Brady; and two sisters, Borgia Lee and Elizabeth Riney.


Survivors include: two sons, Gary (Lisa) Brady and Fred (Mary) Brady, all of Bardstown; four grandchildren, Lara (Brian) Wood of Norfolk, Va., Elizabeth Brady, Frederick Brady, and Patrick Brady, all of Bardstown; four brothers, Bobby Brady, Al Brady and Norris Brady, all of Marion County, and Gabe Brady of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.


The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. David Cockson will be the celebrant.

Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 17, from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Additional visitation will be Monday, Aug. 18 from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
