Raymond Herbert Lepper, age 86, passed away on the morning of December 18, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in his father's home town of Ludlow, Illinois, on September 27, 1932, to Charles and Velma (nee Seigel, later Dalton) Lepper.
He spent much of his childhood in his grandfather's home in Enderlin, North Dakota and his teen years in Bremerton, Washington He was the captain of his Paulsbo High School baseball team and graduated in 1949.
He honorably served in the Army from November 8, 1953 to September 2, 1955, where he was stationed in Korea. After his discharge from the Army, he returned to Bremerton to work in the ship yards and later moved to Long Beach, California, to work in the San Pedro ship yards. He married the love of his life Dixie Lee (Boyanton) on November 10, 1960. In 1971, he moved his family to Santa Maria, California, where he raised his children. In 1990, he retired to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Raymond enjoyed traveling, it was not uncommom for the family to take off on a trip at a last minute notice. Highlights of his travels were vacations to Europe, Hawaii, and New York City. His favorite things to do were going for long walks, gambling at casinos and racetracks, and going out for dinner and a movie.
He is survived by his wife Dixie Lee (nee Boyanton), their seven children: Velma (Payne), Ronald, Robert, Lorraine (Rinus), Loralie (Guerrero), Edward and Ethel (Jackson), thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Much of his loving family came to be by his side in his final days before he passed. A Celebration of Life and inurnment will be a private family service.
