Mrs. Margie Marie Griffin Murray Coleman, 81, passed away Saturday morning, July 14, 2007, at the Satilla Regional Medical Center.
Born in Brantley County, she had lived in Pierce County all of her adult life. She was a retired sitter and was also a member of the Youmans Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Coleman loved sewing and making quilts. She had also made dresses and sewed on buttons for ladies at the Pierce County Nursing Home, her residence for the last several years. She was a daughter of the late Lewis Jefferson & Sadie Lee Altman Griffin and was also preceded in death by her first husband, L. F. "Pete" Murray; her second husband, Winston Coleman; a son, Larry Murray; two brothers, Benton Griffin and Richard Griffin and a sister, Elwanda Woodward.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Billy & Rene Murray of Blackshear; 2 grandchildren, Melissa & Will Hill and Joey Murray; a great grandchild, Ellington Hill; four sisters, Bessie Daniels of Dixie Union, Hazel Keough of Jacksonville, FL and Barbara Peoples and Linda Westberry both of Wayross; a brother, Rev. James D. Griffin of Waycross and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Coleman will be held Monday morning, July 16, 2007, at 11:00 o'clock from the Pearson-Treadwell Chapel.
Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Coleman will be held Sunday evening from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
