John M. O’Connell, III, 64, entered into eternal life Friday, August 9, 2013.Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John M. O’Connell, Jr. and Margaret McCauley O'Connell. John was a US Army Reserve Veteran. He was a construction superintendent for NYS Office of General Services, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and Sudoku puzzles.He took great pleasure in his yearly vacations to Lake Pleasant and Walt Disney World. Above all he loved being surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband of 39 years to Susan Vloebergh O’Connell; loving father of John M. O’Connell, IV (Vanessa), Michael O’Connell, Kelly Benkoski (Ben), Casey O’Connell, Maura O’Connell and Bridget O’Connell; brother of Daniel O’Connell (Cookie), Jean Griner, Joan O’Connell and the late Christine O’Connell; cherished grandfather of Leah and Alyssa O’Connell and Riley Benkoski.Also survived by his great-aunt Elizabeth McCauley, his sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Bruce Brown, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
