Johnny Kirtley Burns, 49, of Carrollton, KY, died on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on November 18, 1969 in Carrollton, KY, the son of John Henry Burns and Joyce Faye Beach Burns of Carrollton, KY. During his life he never let his medical conditions slow him down and he enjoyed participating in Special Olympics of Kentucky for many years. Some of his favorite hobbies included playing guitar and singing, fishing, working puzzles, painting and basketball. He was a member of the Relevant Church in Carrollton for many years and most recently had become a member of Dividing Ridge Apostolic Church in Sanders, KY.

He will be missed by his parents of Carrollton, two sisters; Aleshia (Larry) Tallent of Pleasureville, KY, and Alma (Barry) Shields of Ghent, KY, his maternal grandparents; Albert and Alma Beach of Carrollton, KY, a niece; Amanda (Jimmy) Rockwell of Shelbyville, KY, two nephews; Shane (Bobbie) Tallent of Pleasureville, KY, and Justin Shields of Warsaw, KY, three great nieces; Zoey Rockwell, Shelbie Rockwell and Kayleigh Tallent, three great nephews; Luke Tallent, Brody Rockwell, KJ Kurtz, two great step nephews; Jagger Shields and Jensen Shields.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Julie Burns.
