Harold Dean Myers, 87, of Marshall, IL passed away 8:16 AM Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 in Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing. Harold Dean was a farmer in Clark Co., IL and was born Oct. 29, 1932 in rural Edgar Co., IL, the son of Clarence “Truggy” Myers and Lucille Harbor Myers.
He married Betty Murphy on May 22, 1955 at Clarksville.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; a son, Mike (Michelle) Myers of Marshall; two grandsons, Tyler Myers and Blane Shumaker both of Marshall and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Rich.
He served this nation in the U.S. Army and was a member of Clark Co. Post #90 of the American Legion. He was a graduate of Marshall High School. He loved farming and raising livestock and took great pride in that his son and grandson followed him in that profession.
Services in honor of his life will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home with Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
