Terry Wayne Sanders, son of the late Billy Frank Sanders and Dorothy Williams Sanders, was born April 7, 1956. He departed this life November 9, 2019 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 63 years, 7 months and 2 days. He was a lifelong resident of Izard County and a 1974 graduate of Calico Rock High School. Terry spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, pastor and friend. During his working years, Terry was a logger, dump truck driver, farmer, pastor, musician for Christ. He enjoyed spreading God’s Word and visiting with people. He loved telling stories about deer hunting and his younger days playing baseball. Like the time he "hit the ball over the fence and won the game". Terry was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Galatia Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by one son: Casey Wayne Sanders of Calico Rock; five siblings: Billy Rex Sanders (Lillie) of Pineville, Carolyn "Muff" Dockins (Rex) of Calico Rock, Mike Sanders (Teresa) of Dolph, Marty Sanders (Darlene) of Dolph, Mark Sanders (Lisa) of Dolph; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, church family and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents: Edgar and Vada Lancaster Williams; paternal grandparents: Albert and Lou Gillihan Sanders and one nephew: Lance Gene Sanders.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 12 from 6-8p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock with Joey Bryant and Marty Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Dolph Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tony Sanders, Dustin Sanders, Josh Sanders, Jury Sanders, Brian Sanders and Daniel Sanders.
