Wayne Scott age 80, of Chickamauga, Georgia went home to be with The Lord Saturday – November 9, 2019. He was born in LaFayette, Georgia to the late Marvin Napoleon and Agnes Ilean Corey Scott. He was a graduate of LaFayette High School Class of 1957. He retired from Texaco Oil Company after thirty years of service in 1998. He was a current employee of Wilson Funeral Homes, where he enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed mowing yards for several people in the Chickamauga area. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Chickamauga, where he had served as Deacon, Sunday School Secretary, choir member and on several committees. Wayne was also a former member of the Chickamauga Lions Club. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Sammie Hampton, Pat Moore, brother: Bud Scott. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years: Yvonne “Deedle” Lancaster Scott of Chickamauga, GA, son: Chris (Tracy) Scott of Rossville, GA, daughter: Dana Scott of Plano, TX, sister: Jackie Nelson of East Ridge, TN, grandchildren: Christopher “Bear” (Hailey) Scott, Beth (Trip) Wilson, great-granddaughter: Miss Olivia Scott, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Tuesday morning before the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am – Tuesday – November 12, 2019 in the chapel with Pastors: Chris Morgan, Michael Savage and Sean Maxwell. Burial will follow in Chickamauga Cemetery.
