Vivian Madeline Mathis Thomas, 79, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Community Hospice Hadlow Center.

She was born on November 19, 1939 in Live Oak, Florida and daughter of the late Jessie James Mathis and Mattie Lucille Hill Mathis. As a child, her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Shelby Mathis and Willa Dean Jackson and 2 brothers: James W. Mathis and Infant Alton Mathis.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Peeples Event Center, 14165 N. Main Street.

Her family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Event Center.

A reception in her memory will be held at the home of Dayna and Prentiss Garraway after the service.

Flowers are welcome and we thank you, however, if you would like to make a contribution in memory of our mother, please do so to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida – the Hadlow Center in her name. Thank you.
