James M. Cothren, 87, died July 13, 2007, of natural causes at his residence.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m until services at 2 p.m Monday, in the Hartman chapel with Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will be in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville.
Mr. Cothren was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Franklin County. He was the son of Earb and Carrie M. Cothren.
Mr. Cothren was retired from NASA. He was a member of First Church of McComb, a mason, and a U.S. Army veteran of foreign wars, having served in the China-Burma-India Theater.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Yvonne W. Cothren.
Survivors include his cousins Roger and Joyce Cothren , numerous neighbors, and special friends Herman and Shirley Coley.
Pallbearers will be Herman Coley, Mark Calcote, Bernie Gill, M.L. Ezell, Lane Cothren, Randalle Cothren.
