The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Friday, November 8, at Fair Bluff United Methodist Church in Fair Bluff, N.C. 28439. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 pm.
Jane graduated from Fairmont High School and attended Flora MacDonald Academy. She grew up in the Presbyterian faith but joined Fair Bluff United Methodist. Her church family was very important to Jane, and she was actively involved in its activities. Jane was very actively involved with numerous organizations, including the Columbus County Fine Arts Committee, N.C. Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Woman’s Club of N.C. and her beloved bridge groups. Five years following Charlie’s death, she found happiness again in marrying J.C. Bell of Tabor City. She enjoyed her years in Tabor City and continued to reside there following J.C.’s death. As her ability to live independently declined, Jane came home to live with her daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Nathan Kelly in Greenville.
Jane was predeceased by first husband Charlie A. Scott [married 12/1/1946], second husband J.C. Bell, son Robert “Keith” Scott; sisters, Sarah Bridger, Alice Wayne, Zelma Spears; Brothers, Charles Grantham, Jr., John Grantham, and Lloyd Grantham; stepson Ronnie Bell and stepdaughter Linda Bell.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Nathan), grandson Scott (Hanna), stepson Terry Bell, step-grandsons Bradley Bell (Amber), and Jeffrey Bell (Beth).
