Sgt. Thomas J. (T.J.) Riggs, age 83 of Andersonville, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home.
He served in the Korean War from 1951 til 1953. He was a member of Byrmas Fork Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his son, Mark W. Riggs; parents, John and Gertie Riggs; brothers, Henry and Cliff Riggs.
Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Naomi Brooks Riggs; daughter, Linda (Carlos) Crawford; son, Tommy (Connie) Riggs; grandchildren, Bobby (Morgan) Crawford, Amanda (Bob) Stokes, T.J. and Travis Riggs all of Andersonville; great grandchildren, Ethan and Emma Bolton, John and Maggie Stokes all of Andersonville; brother, Jack (Faye) Riggs of Andersonville; sister in-law, Maxine Riggs of Norris; a host of special nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 20th from 6-8 PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Jerry Walton and Rev. Burney Hutchison officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be Saturday, March 21st at 11:00 AM at New Loyston Cemetery in Union County. Pallbearers will be TJ and Travis Riggs, Bobby Crawford and Bob Stokes. Honorary pallbearers will be David Humphrey, Charlie Stonecipher, JC Tudor and Ed Sharp. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
