Luke Bostow was born on October 24, 1910 at Kongsberg, North Dakota, the son of Mack and Daisy (Postovit) Bostow. He was raised and educated in that area, and helped on the family farm during his younger years. He had also worked a short time for Alex Harchenko in the Benedict area. Luke was united in marriage to Rose Strilcov on June 14, 1933 at Minot. They made their home on a farm near Benedict, where he was employed by the elevator as a grain buyer. He then purchased the International Harvester Implement dealership in Benedict, and he and his family operated the business until he retired in 1983. He and his wife had moved into Minot in 1978. Luke was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Minot, where he had served in various positions. He was a member of Gideon's International and was on the founding board for McLean Manor in Garrison, the Benedict City Council, and the Max and Benedict School Boards.
