Dorothy Jean Thurston, age 85, of Anderson, passed away on Oct. 26, 2019.
She was born May 24, 1934, in Vincennes, to Zelphia Irene McKinney and Robert Owen Carroll.
She lived on-her-own for nearly 60 years and was proud of it. Every Saturday she attended Sabbath school at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Anderson.
She is survived by her children, Cathy Shrewsbury of Anderson, Brett Shrewsbury, Anderson, Steven Brough of Saulsberry, Indiana, Douglas Brough of Mooresville; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was proceeded in death by her parents; her three sisters, Catherine, JoAnn and Bernice; and her youngest son, McDawson Herald.
A memorial will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1122 W. Eighth St., Anderson.
