Lynn E. Thomas, 62, died Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from complications of a brain aneurysm in Murray.

Lynn was born December 5, 1956 in Salt Lake City to Norma J. Thomas and J. Ray Thomas. He was a lifelong Utah resident. He worked as a machinist for over twenty-five years and had a passion for metal work and working with his hands. He went on to work for the Transportation Security Association for eighteen years.

He was a rabid Utah Jazz fan and was excited to see how the team was going to do this upcoming season. Lynn was extremely passionate about his grandkids, and loved spending time with them whenever he was able to.

He is preceded in death by his father, J. Ray Thomas; and sister, Elaine N. Thomas. Survived by his wife of over forty years, Katherine Thomas; son, Brandon Thomas, his wife, Christine, and their children, Luke, Liam, and Leo; daughter, Shannon Thomas McCormick, her husband, Lance, and her children, Kendall and Sienna; mother, Norma J. Thomas; sisters, Joyce Goshert and Dianne Caldwell; and brothers, Mike Thomas and Scott Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Burial will follow at Elysian Burial Gardens, where Lynn’s father and sister are buried.
