Mrs. Betty Jean Sammons 81, of Elkin, NC she was called to her heavenly home on October 15, 2019 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born in Richmond, VA on May 23, 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Sammons and daughter Debbie Whiteman. She was blessed with children and grandchildren; Joseph & Debbie Sammons, Raymond Sammons, Rusty Sammons, Jenny and Pat Riley, Melanie Sammons, Nicky and Adam Gilpin, Karen and Jimmy Proveaux and Jenifer Reece; 14 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. She will truly be missed by her family and friends, but she will always remain in our hearts. Graveside service will be conducted on Sunday October 20, 2019 at 10:00am at Welcome Valley Church Cemetery,115 Dodson Road, Elkin, NC. Spencer Funeral Directors are in charge of all services and arrangements.
