Judge Lewis L. McArthur, who was County Judge in Baker County in 1868, Oregon Supreme Court Judge from 1870-1878, Circuit Judge in Wasco County 1878-1882, and at some point after 1882, the U.S. Attorney for Oregon. He appears to have joined a Portland law firm about 1891 and died in 1897. L. L. McArthur married Harriet K. Nesmith in Polk County, Or. in 1878.
