Glenda Lou Carlan was born in Athens, Georgia. She was a longtime resident of Anniston, Alabama and Tampa, Florida. She passed away at The Abbey Rehabilitation Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Glenda was a 1969 graduate of the University of Georgia and an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. One of her highlights was meeting Herschel Walker in person in the early 1980’s.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Horace and Helen Murray Carlan, of Athens, Georgia, her brother, H.M. “Chip” Carlan, of Dublin, Georgia, and her husband, LTC Paul Montgomery Roberts, of Tampa, Florida.
She is survived by her ex sister in law, Eileen Carlan of Athens, Georgia; Stepdaughters Lara Roberts Long (Brian), of Fayetteville, Georgia, Krista Roberts Ellington (Steve), of McDonough, Georgia, Lisa Roberts Hembree (Cliff), of Northport, Alabama; Godson Andy Moore (Jenna), of Birmingham, Alabama, Step grandchildren Ansley, Hayden, Addison and Ella Long, Christopher and Camryn Fields, Carson Ellington, Pate and Price Hembree, Mathew Honts, and Kortney Honts Rodriguez.
Graveside services will be held Monday, November 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, Georgia. Pastor Gregory Michael will be officiating.
