Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, 11:00 am in the Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial Chapel.
Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
Ms. Mattie Mae Hill was born May 25, 1931 to the late Mr. and Mrs. John (Rosie Gates) Cleveland of Meriwether County. She departed this life on February 9, 2019.
She joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Moreland, GA at an early age. Mattie graduated high school in 1948 in Ocilla, GA. She retired from Hi-Brands Food where she served for over 25 years.
She entered into Holy Matrimony with the late Raymond Hill, to this union two children were born, Alberta Person and Annie Kate Tucker.
Mattie loved to clean house and talk on the phone to her many friends. Keeping her yard clean was her pride and joy, “pick up that paper and don’t throw that cigarette butt down,” this extended to the street and in front of her house also. Mattie had a fire and courage like no other. It was hard to get one up on her.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Annie Kate Tucker; three brothers, Albert Cleveland, Robert B. Cleveland, and Rendall Cleveland and four sisters, Lottie Mae Prather, Leola Williams, Alma Doll Hammond, and Lizzie Mae Cleveland.
