Hicks, Meredith K., went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Hicks; parents, Otis and Mildred Killam; brother, Ernest Killam; sister-in-law, Patricia Killam; and son, Royce James Hicks.
Meredith was a beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend to many people. She will always be remembered for her love of family and friends. She was known as “Grammy” and she truly was everybody’s grandmother. Meredith spent most of her life in Maine where she enjoyed a wonderful life with her husband, Albert, and her two children, Royce and Bonnie Hicks Edith. She also had other family that she loved dearly and considered her children, son-in-law, Anthony Edith; daughter-in-law, Sue Shaw, and her husband, Alan; Rossie Hicks Jr., and his wife, Bobbie; Melodie Walsh and Debra Neal. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, Brent Hicks, April Curry, and her husband, Ryan, Jesse German and his wife, April; and her great-grandchildren, Aiden Curry and Frederick James German.
Some of the things Meredith most enjoyed were playing bingo with her many friends in Detroit, Maine, and playing cards with her family and friends. She was a real competitor and seldom ever lost a game. In her later years, she enjoyed her jigsaw puzzles and sticker-by-number books.
Services will be held in Maine in August 2020.
