Shirley was born in Wayne County on October 2, 1934 to the late Edgar and Ruth Head Sasser. She was married for 52 years to the late James Franklin Dixon.
For many years she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband and later as a secretary with D.T. Grantham Trucking Company. Shirley was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. To know her was to witness a rare blend of kindness, strength, independence and love. She will be remembered everyday.
A service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 by the graveside at Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephew, Kent Grantham, officiating.
Shirley is survived by her son, Cliff Ross Dixon of Cutler Bay, Florida; sister, Peggy Martin of Ohio; special friend, Mary Best; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eric Scott Dixon.
