Kay was born in Bicknell, In. to the late Paul and Alice (Hash) McKean. She was a graduate of Pleasantville, In. High School, and received an Associates Degree in accounting from the Indianapolis College of Business. Kay had been an accountant with Planned Investments in Indianapolis for 22 years, retiring in 2006. She was an active member of Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her husband of almost 62 years, Lyle, son Ron (Nikki) Clark of Cibolo, TX., 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and brothers, Kenneth McKean of Wanamaker, IN., and Kermit McKean of Illinois.
