Private family services will be held at Gass Haney Funeral Home on Friday, June 13, 2003 with Rev. Gary Main officiating. Interment will be at the Clarks Cemetery in Clarks, Nebraska.
Corbet L. "Corky" Hansher was born February 6, 1920 at Belgrade, Nebraska to Robert Roy and Mildred (Toogood) Hansher. He attended rural Belgrade and Central City schools. He entered the US Army on April 1, 1942 and was discharged on October 23, 1945 after serving in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Corbet was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal , WW II Victory Medal , Army of Occupation Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He married Eileen Spires on November 10, 1945 at Central City, Nebraska. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and then the Clarks Township, as a maintainer operator. Corbet lived in Clarks for fifty years and moved to Columbus in 1999. He was a life member of the Clarks VFW Post 4382.
