Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Crestwood Chapel for Clarence Sims, 86, Glencoe, who died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996. Dr. Bill Morgan will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Sims was a lifelong resident of Glencoe and was retired from Goodyear Rubber Company.
He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maurine Sims; and children, Dorothy Russell, Sandra Kaye Redding and Diane, Ronald, Donald and Jerry Lee Sims.
He is survived by his sons, Miles (Earlene) Sims, Dood (Judy) Sims and W.O. (Doris) Sims; daughters, Sue Deerman, Myra Faye Howell, Jackie (Clyde) Mitchell, Sheila (Ricky) Chapman, Ramona (Bob) Guthrie and Debbie (Gary) Starling; stepchildren, Norma Jean (Ewell) Rhodes, Claudette (Billy) Wagnon, Margaret Alexander, Rovene (Kenneth) Epperson and Wayne (Kathleen) Bailey; sister, Grace Sims; foster brother, Ed McCoy; 43 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
