Kathy was born March 19, 1971 in West Hamlin, WV to the late Lester and Frances Lucas Vaughn.
She graduated high school and enlisted in The United States Army, something she was very proud of, she served honorable for seven years reaching the rank of Specialist First Class she also attended Jump School until she was injured and received an Honorable Medical Discharge. Kathy's duties took her to Germany for two years as a postal clerk. She participated in Desert Storm for five and one half months, working in Saudi Arabia moving the mail across the desert. Her duty station had her close enough to see and hear flashes of light and hear the runs on ammunition going on every night.
Besides her parents Kathy is preceded in death by a sister; Tammy Renea Vaughn.
She is survived by her children; DeVonte' Antonio Vaughn, DeSean Walter Lorenzo Vaughn, Logan Nicole Vaughn and Mackenzie Ryan Vaughn, grandchildren; Damian Xzaviar Vaughn, Dallas Rae Vaughn, Hunter James Adkins and Leilani Maelynn Frye, her siblings; Lester Weyland Vaughn Jr., Lawrence Bradford Vaughn, Melissa Carol Mayes and Erica Dawn Dearnell, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be Tuesday November 12, 2019 at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with visitation from 11-12. Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar, WV. at 2:00 PM
