Parents Frederick W. and Myrtle M.(Hill) Johnson and he was the youngest of three children. He attended schools in Wichita Falls and in Seymour.
He joined the Army in 1958 with two buddies from Seymour and made a career in the Military(Military Policeman and the Air Force) and he retired in 1979 after 20 years of service. After retirement he returned to Seymour.
He married Virginia"Ginger" Martin of Seymour January 12, 1961.
Military Awards: Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Expert(Rifle) award, Air Force Commendation Medal.
After retirement he and his wife had their own Publication Company in Seymour for 22 years. He wrote many books and among his published work are several children's anthologies, which he donated to local school libraries in the area.
Visitation at Funeral Home Saturday from 5-6.
Service Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm.
Internment at Goree Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Ginger; Son, Kevin of Olney, TX, Grandchildren Tony, Tesia Keeling, Eva Johnson-Kelly, Tasha Johnson , Sandra Leeper, and Rebekah Johnson-Cooley ; niece Debra(Daft) Nunez; and great granchildren.
