My Friend Edie's Dad

BIO BY HIS DAUGHTERS !!!

Dad drove for Central Motor Lines. When he retired from driving he worked on Lawn Mowers and did wood working among other odd jobs.
He was the father of 5 girls. He was our teacher and our friend. He taught 2 of us to work on cars and wood working and how to assemble things. He even taught Mama how to cut wood, with him close by so she didn't hurt herself. He was very patient with all of us.
He used to say he got 50 cents a week and Mama got 50 dollars. The things we remember from our childhood.
He showed us lots of love. He said love means never having to say you are sorry. You don't say things to hurt each other. If Mama got sassy he would head to his work shop for a while.
God gave us a Good Dad and we miss him so very much.
Daddy was a member of St.Johns United Methodist Church
he was proceeded in death by his daughter, Doloris Parrish, 2 grandsons, Eddie Sutphin. Ronnie Carter.
Left to miss him, A loving wife, Edna Palmer and 4 daughters.Linda Phelps, Betty Jean Sutphin. Heddie Ricketts, and Edie Ricketts. 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Mama re-joined Daddy in 2004.
Thank you for any flowers you leave for our Daddy.
Linda, Betty Jean, Heddie and Edie...

Dear Daddy
I remember many happy times around the kitchen table or at the picnic table playing card games and board games. It wasn't just our family, you allowed me to have friends over to spend the night, visit and join in our fun times. I also remember many week-ends going to Lake Jeanette with the Hollermans for picnics and fishing. You and Mama loved the little fish you caught but I still don't eat fresh fish.
You were gone a lot during my growing up years, since you were a long distant truck driver. You made the most of your time at home. I appreciate the time you spent with my friends and the fact you didn't object to Mama spending so much time with us.
Love you and miss you so much Daddy.
