Gail Dean Harris, 80 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital.

Dean was born December 11, 1938 in Milan to Ernest Gail and Helen Lucille (Sayre) Harris, they preceded him in death.

Also preceding him was his longtime companion, Judy Shinafelt.

Survivors include: One son, two granddaughters, a grandson, two step grandsons, a brother, a niece..

Dean lived most of his life in Sullivan County, graduating from Milan High School in 1956.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War.

Dean worked at B.F. Goodrich for 20 years in Kansas City then he owned and operated Mid-States Retreaders.

After retiring he moved back to the family farm.

Dean was a member of American Legion Post 228, Life member of the NRA, and a board member of the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

He enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

A memorial service for Dean will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
