Native Staten Islander; service is on Saturday

Raymond J. Tuite, 91, devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 16, 2019.

He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Catherine. He is survived by his loving children: Michael (Rosemarie), Karen, John (Cookie), and Annmarie Svendsen (Tim). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

"Ray" was a native Staten Islander who worked for the U.S. Postal Service, the N.Y. State Department of Taxation and, at one time, owned his own luncheonette. He was an avid bowler with the American Legion league and spent many hours gardening during his retirement years. He also loved spending time with his family and doted on his grandchildren.

Guests will be received on Friday, July 19 at Casey Funeral Home, S.I., from 4 to 8 p.m. Service will be Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and final resting will be at Saint Peter's Cemetery on Tyler Ave., S.I.
