Laura Ann McWilliams Russell, 44, of Madison died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016.
She was born Feb. 12, 1972, in Lexington, Ky. She earned a degree from the School of Optometry at Indiana University Bloomington in 1996. She later earned a second degree in nursing and accepted a position at the Madison State Hospital. She resided in Laredo, Texas, and moved to Madison in 2004. She attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Devin; her mother, Beverly; one brother, Patrick McWilliams; one sister, Kathleen Elliott; one half-brother, Larry Holmes; one half-sister, Paula Schwanitz; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, David McWilliams.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
Friends may call at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The rosary will be said at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to a trust for her daughter. Contributions can be made through the funeral home or at the church.
