He was born March 31, 1922, in Piedmont, Mo., son of the late Alexander and Maudie (Hickenbothem) Landing.
He was united in marriage to Nadine Burger Jan. 17, 1943. She preceded him in death. To this union two children were born, Bruce and Sandy.
He married Jeanie (Bennett) Ferguson April 11, 1982. She survives and resides in Piedmont.
Mr. Landing was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during WWII. He had retired from Sears and Roebuck as a manager in the vehicle service center and retired from Clearwater R-1 School as a bus driver after 16 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Bruce (Patricia) Landing, Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Sandy (James) Ferguson, Piedmont; four stepsons, James (Sandy) Ferguson, Piedmont, Jim C. (Linda) Ferguson, Poplar Bluff, Norman (Angie) Ferguson, Bowling Green, Ky., Randy (Kathy) Ferguson, Piedmont; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Alfred and Nathan Landing, three sister, Dora Absheer, Edith Montgomery and Eleanor Alexander.
The funeral was held July 6 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. W. Michael Woods officiating and music by Richard McAllister.
Pallbearers were Bruce Landing, Eric Miranda, Chris, Bryan, Scott and Nick Ferguson, Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Graveside military service was provided by the U.S. Marine Corps.
