Actor. Born in London, England, he graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and become an established revue and musical star on the London stage. He made his feature film debut in "Bull Rushes" (1931) and went on to appear in over 50 films. His credits include "The Great Dictator" (1940), "A Yank in the R.A.F." (1941), "Black Widow" (1954), "Rock-a-Bye Baby" (1958), "Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation" (1962) and "What a Way to Go" (1964). He also appeared on many television shows such as "Our Man Higgins", "Burke's Law", "The Phyllis Diller Show", "Batman" and "Petticoat Junction". He died in Westwood, California, at the age of 77.
