Actor. Born Liverpool, England, he was a versatile character actor best known for his role as the uptight road manager in the Beatles first film "A Hard Day's Night" (1964). His other film credits included "A Night to Remember" (1958), "The Longest Day" (1962), Lawrence of Arabia" (1962), "Joey Boy" (1965), "Man in the Wilderness" (1971) and "The Prisoner of Zenda" (1979).
