She retired from Southern Union Gas Company after twenty five years, where she was the first woman to hold the position of Draftsman, charting the pipelines for this region.
In her earlier years she won several awards for her oil paintings. She loved to work in her flower garden and she loved all of God's little creatures, especially her puppy dogs, Mollie, Millie and Tessa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Byron DeLay, and her stepson James DeLay, her mother Edith (Guinn) Bristow and brothers Weir Bristow and Jerry Brimacombe.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy Reiche and husband Bill, grandson, Byron Pleasant and wife Julie, granddaughter Rebecca Pleasant, great grandson Christopher Edwards and her brother Robert Bristow and sister, Susan Pangan.
