Served as pastor at St. Mary's Church in Brookfield from 1939-1949 before becoming pastor at St. Patrick's in South Hadley Falls for the last 20 yrs.
Survived by 2 cousins, Rev. Joseph J. Sweeney, S.J. of Fairfield University and Sister Catherine Sweeney, SSJ of St. Thomas Convent in Springfield.
