Norma Noraine Bowman, age 86, of St. Peter, Illinois passed away at 2:26 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois, with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Reverend Ryan Meyer will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Saint Peter, Illinois.y. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Pagel Funeral Homes in St. Peter, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lutheran Care Center, or the donor’s choice.

Norma was born on January 1, 1933 in Texas County, Missouri, the daughter of Elmer F. and Nellie G. (Tuttle) Munzer.

Norma retired from McDonald Douglas Corporation in 1989 after 31 years of service. Fulfilling the desire to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law, and family, Norma chose to move to St. Peter, Illinois in 1991. Norma was one to always want to be busy, enjoying many “after retirement” jobs. She was secretary for the Three Corner Ambulance Service and St. Peter City Council, tax accountant for Sproat Tax Service, and her most recent employment with ADM working in the office during harvest season. She would have enjoyed her 25th year with ADM working this harvest season. Norma was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, the St. Peter’s Ladies Aid/LWML and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Norma enjoyed playing cards and Bunco with both lifelong friends in St. Louis and St. Charles and her newfound friends in St. Peter and Farina. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her son Michael Bowman (wife Nancy) of Altamont, Illinois; one brother, Kenneth Munzer (wife Mary Lou) of O’Fallon, Missouri; two grandsons, Derek Bowman (wife Casie) and Clint Bowman (wife Mackenzie) both of Altamont, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Eli, Olivia and Reed all of Altamont, Illinois; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends whom she always held near and dear to her heart.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer F. and Nellie G. Munzer.
